According to Stereopsia, Ravi Velhal leads, at Intel, digital media standards, technologies, and immersive cinema globally. As a cinema virtual reality experience (VRE) pioneer, he co-produced Le Musk, multi-sensory VR by A. R. Rahman, Dunkirk with Warner Bros, directed Rio Carnival 2018 with Globo TV, collaborated with Sony Pictures on Spider-Man: Homecoming. He is recipient of Hollywood’s prestigious Lumiere Award & several patents. He is on the Board of AIS and advisor to film and trade organizations.
GREASE
At CES 2019, Randal Kleiser, the director of the 1978 movie “Grease,” and Intel Studios’ general manager Diego Prilusky revealed an exploratory, immersive teaser celebrating the film’s 40th anniversary. Intel and Paramount Pictures plan to release this experience based on a re-creation of the iconic song “You’re the One That I Want” this year for PCs and virtual reality headsets.
