Luxembourg Film Festival

Luxembourg

Тhe Luxembourg City Film Festival returns for a jubilee edition between 5th and 15th March. What is more, it comes with a virtual reality pavilion that promises a unique programme of at least 12 immersive and innovative movie experiences.

Following record visitor numbers in 2019, this year’s Virtual Reality Pavilion will move to a new location. In the iconic setting of neimënster, festivalgoers will find more than a dozen VR and innovative works that count among the most groundbreaking and acclaimed the international scene currently has to offer; from impressive films – some of them Luxembourg co-productions – to stunning XR- and AI-based installations. One of the Pavilion’s exhibition spaces will be dedicated to a focus on French immersive content pioneers Atlas V.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City Film Festival is the country’s official film festival. With this in mind, it is committed to presenting high-quality, exclusive content of undeniable artistic value, featuring a vast panorama of international contemporary fiction and documentary films, special screenings, Luxembourgish productions and a young audiences programme.

Beyond the 208 screenings in the three partner cinema complexes (Ciné Utopia, Kinepolis Kirchberg, and the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg), the Festival welcomed 327 international guests and professional visitors in 2019 and dares to venture beyond film theatres, hosting special evening events, free workshops, exhibitions and concerts in many of the capital’s cultural institutions.
